Technology to Monitor Eye Health
At Sun Valley Eye Care, our diagnostic and treatment technology is selected with care. From helping us monitor your eye health to treating and managing various eye conditions, our technology enhances our level of care.
We use innovative eye care technology such as optos retinal imaging, OCT scans, and Retinalogik visual field testing to get a detailed view of your eye structures. This allows our optometrists to gain a better understanding of the health of your eyes. Many of these devices can help us detect signs of eye disease, often before any symptoms are noticed.

A Thorough Look with optos
Retinal imaging has been a standard in eye care for a long time, but optos takes this keystone diagnostic test to the next level. With the ultra-widefield optomapⓇ, we are able to see more of your retina than ever before.
Retinal imaging provides a detailed picture of the inside of your eye, including the blood vessels and the optic nerve. Visualizing your retina allows us to monitor for signs of disease that could impact your future vision.

Our Technologically-Powered Eye Exams
We use technology to see beyond the naked eye. Our eye care technology enhances our ability to detect eye conditions during early stages, which can help us treat or manage these conditions before they impact your sight.
During our regular eye exams, we complete a thorough assessment of your eye health. This includes retinal imaging (taking photos of the inside of your eye), OCT scans (cross-sectional scans of your eye), and visual field testing (checking your peripheral vision). We also check the pressure inside your eye using tonometry.
Beyond diagnostics, we also use technology to power some of our treatments, leading to more effective and noninvasive options for many conditions. We offer radiofrequency (RF) and intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) treatments for dry eye and offer specialized lenses such as Neurolens for those suffering from headaches, eye strain, and binocular vision dysfunction (BVD).
OCT scans are a noninvasive imaging technique that provides high-resolution, cross-sectional images of your retina and its layers. It can also measure your retinal thickness.
OCT scans are powerful tools for detecting signs of retinal diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. They can also show changes in other eye structures, including the cornea, optic nerve, and blood vessels, making them a good diagnostic baseline for many other eye conditions.
Optos retinal imaging provides a clear, detailed image of your retina, or the inner layer inside your eye. This layer contains light-sensitive cells that collect and process what you see and send the information to your brain through the optic nerve.
By monitoring your retina through in-depth imaging, we can routinely check for any signs of eye disease that could impact or damage your vision. Because many eye diseases develop silently, regular retinal images help us catch conditions before they cause damage.
The Retinalogick device measures your visual field. Also called your peripheral (side) vision, your visual field refers to the entire area that your eyes can see while fixed on a certain point. Retinalogik uses VR technology to measure your visual field and track this data over time.
As your visual field can be impacted by various conditions, such as macular degeneration, retinal detachment, glaucoma, regularly measuring and tracking your visual field can allow us to notice any changes that might indicate an underlying problem.
